TerryTalks article 1/23/17
@terrybankert. The Marches are over. Now what do we do to protect the Social Safety Net. Particularly Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and Affordable Health Care.
Some of us in Genesee County, the County Democratic Party , are organizing workgroups. But what should we do? Contact Our Congressman Dan Kildee and the Great U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters .Give a couple bucks to a needy organization? But what can we do as a citizens in a local group to protect our Social Safety New. What do you Suggest?
It is obvious that the Social Safety Net is Funded Federally authorized by laws passed by Congress. How can a local group affect national programs? We can by being self educated and persistence.
One example. Look at your facebook friends. Some have a modest number of friends spread throughout the country. Post a message with an action suggestion to your wall and ask your friends to share the same to their wall. Now your reach is national. This is the dynamic Trump used on Twitter. So why do we not advocate this way on facebook, twitter, instagram and tumblr. The work group can generate the message.
What else can we do?
